H.Pylori Test cassette with specimen collecting tube

H.Pylori POCT Rapid Test Kits

H.pylori antibody test Kit, also known as one-step H.pylori AB tests, are a rapid medical testing device for the qualitative detection of antibodies of all isotypes (IgG, IgM, IgA, etc.) specific to Helicobacter pylori in human serum, plasma or whole blood specimen. While H.pylori antigen feces test kit is n immunoassay for the detection of H.pylori antigen in human feces specimen. These test kits are performed outside of the body of the testee, so they are also called H.pylori IVD Test Kits. Rapid H.pylori test kits are intended to be used as an aid in the diagnosis of H. pylori infection in patients with gastrointestinal symptoms; and are recommended for professional use.

Principle

H.pylori Immunoassay testing device is based on the double antigens sandwich immunoassay principle. When testing with a helicobacter pylori test cassette, H.pylori antigen–colloid gold conjugate and serum sample move along the membrane chromatographically to the test line region (T), where H.pylori capturing antigen is pre-coated. If antibodies to H.pylori exist in the specimen, "antigen-antibody-antigen" gold particle complex will form, a pink color band will appear on the test region. If the inside quality control line (C) also emerge, then the two pink lines give a positive result. And on the contrary, if there is no antibody to the H.pylori bacterium in the serum specimen, the "antigen-antibody-antigen" gold particle complex will not form at the test region, indicating a negative result.

Background

Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that lives on the lining of the stomach, which is the main cause of ulcers. An ulcer is a sore or hole in the lining of the stomach or duodenum. Contradictory to the common belief, an ulcer is infectious disease, not caused by acid or spicy foods. People of any age can get an ulcer. Nine out of ten ulcer cases are caused by H. pylori. Good news is since most ulcers are caused by this bacterial infection, they can be cured with the right antibiotics.

Before this treatment, the doctor must make certain whether the patient is suffering from ulcer caused by H.pylori bacterium. Several techniques, both invasive and non-invasive have been utilized to diagnose H.pylori infection. In the in-vitro test realm, both H.pylori antibody test and antigen test are available. H.pylori serum test kits are used to detect anti-H.pylori specific antibody, mostly IgG antibodies in a patient's blood. This Serological approach detects the host's immune response to the infection, but does not distinguish a current active infection from a past infection. In addition, the antibody titer does not change during the treatment, and make the serum test not suitable for the prognosis use. As the supplement, diagnosing H.pylori infection by fecal antigen test can detect all isotypes of the H.pylori organism present in fecal specimens.
